Sabura marked the second chapter of the collective’s annual fayre, following the success of its first edition across Lisbon and Leeds, back2black.
As the collective entered its new conceptual era, the event celebrated African-Portuguese culture through food, music, art, and community. The warmth of African hall parties came alive through the sounds of late 90s and early 00s Kizomba, Gumbé, Zouk, Semba, Funaná, and Kuduro – sounds hailing from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.
Behind the decks were Umafricana, Lisbon’s own icon Oseias, and East London’s DON’T CALL ME TAKO, joined by Niiko, Killian, Stella, and Freirianas throughout the afternoon.
